Siwon Privacy Policy

Siwon is a personal AI companion that lives on your desktop. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Siwon is local-first: your data stays on your device, and you control it.

Siwon stores the following data on your device:

• Conversations with Siwon
• Memories Siwon keeps from your conversations
• Tasks and reminders you create
• Character settings created during setup

• All data is stored locally on your device by default
• You can optionally export or sync it to a location you choose (Obsidian, Dropbox, iCloud, a Git repository, etc.)
• We do not operate servers that store your personal data, and the Siwon app contains no analytics or tracking

• By default, Siwon uses a local AI model, so your conversations stay on your device
• If you opt in to a cloud AI provider (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI) with your own API key, your conversations are sent to that provider to generate responses, under their respective privacy policies

This website (siwon.app), separate from the Siwon app, uses the following services to understand how visitors use the site and to fix problems:

• Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager): pages visited, referring site, device and browser type, and approximate location
• PostHog: pages visited and time on page, referring site, device and browser type, approximate location, page loading speed, and where on the page visitors click and move the mouse
• Sentry: error reports, and page loading performance for a sample of visits. When an error occurs, a recording of the visit, starting shortly before the error, may be included, with all text masked and images and media blocked

These services may set cookies or use similar browser storage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.

To opt out of Google Analytics, you can use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For how Google uses this data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

We do not sell your data. The Siwon app does not send your data to us or to anyone else, except to services you choose to use, such as a cloud AI provider (see AI Providers) or a sync location (see Data Storage). Website usage data is handled by the services listed in "This Website".

You can delete your data at any time within the app, or by removing Siwon's local data folder from your device.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
